rachel, do you mean Dear and Hare?

Yeah, I saw the lead photo this morning on the section front (6 columns, guy with dog, old house, half a Ford truck - pic 5 in the multimedia show) and I knew it was his from six feet away.

Love the way he sees with a wideangle. He consistently makes beautiful, quiet photos from these kinds of stories. Real nice guy, too.

Those photos are all within about 60 miles of where I'm from. Definitely a lot of familiar scenes to me. I once spent a cold night in a barn in Grass Range when the school bus that my Science Bowl team was riding in broke down on the way home. Great to see the Washington Post reach out for story in an area of the country usually forgotten on the national political scene.
