I was an old dog learning new tricks this morning, experimenting with image optimization in Photoshop. I have two words for you: High Pass.
Who knew?!
In any case, this ad from Adobe crossed my desk later in the day, and it was so apropos. Well done, Adobe. May I please have CS4 for an affordable price? k thx.
Update: Commenter Edward sets me straight:
FYI the above photo is not from adobe. It's from an agency in Jakarta, Indonesia doing a campaign promoting the use of original software instead of pirated.
agency : Bates141 Jakarta
creative director : Hendra Lesmono
art director : Andreas Junus & Irawandhani Kamarga
copywriter : Darrick Subrata
photgrapher : Anton Ismael

I guess you are using the high pass to remove image noise? Care to share an example?
High pass is awesome for sharpening. I forget about it and then remember it and wonder why I don't always use it. How do you use it to remove noise?
Yeh Rachel, High Pass! This too was a revelation when I found out about HP for sharpening. Totally knocks USM into a cocked hat!
Did you see the behind the scene shot? http://www.flickr.com/photos/18697966@N00/2973718145/in/set-72157608377333404/
This CS4 interface is fantastic. I love constructed sets in photography, and this one takes the cake (or a cake of sorts). This idea of taking the digital symbols and representations of tools and making them in real life so as to re apply them to the digital interface elicits one of those “whoa” moments. It makes you re-contextualize the digital tools you use, in a sense. And more over it coincides in a sense with my most recent stimulus, making the video game/animated/digital world real. Why do things strive for being real, when you could take real things and apply them to their appropriate digital niches.
I love this!!! So creative
